We are not joking here – for two nights in a row, peaceful, relaxing, slow-moving Bedonia turned literally wild – and PINK!!!! If you had happened on our little town on the 12th or 13th of August, you would have found it difficult to believe you were in Bedonia, because this little corner of the earth became a whirlwind of events: music, concerts, streetfood, juggling barmen, stalls – you name it, it was right here! And there was pink everywhere……shop windows, lights, decorations along the streets, ladies with very improbable your majesty the queen-like pink affairs on their heads, pink t -shirts on all bartenders and pretty much on everyone else too! These were the “Notti Rosa” (pink nights), which take place every year in August, and attract people from all over. For those of us who live here, sitting outside a bar sipping on a mohito and watching a river of people go by is something quite amazing – not to mention unusual! We felt as if we have been catapulted into Rimini for a weekend, and the effect was quite daunting and exciting at the same time!
There were rock bands and groups playing all kinds of music in every square, on every corner. Dj’s whopping out their “oontsy” disco stuff had the younger generation shaking it all around. There was a fashion show for sportswear, an inflatable playground for children, beer stalls, candy floss, fried seafood and free vegan buffets. A pink delirium in which it was impossible not to get tangled up and carried away…….and of course, everybody did!
And then along comes Monday; you go to your local bar for a cappuccino, and although there is no visible evidence of the crazy weekend that has just taken place, the electricity is still buzzing in the air. Everybody is chatting about it, the fun, the noise, the crowd, and now Bedonia has become the talk of all the other towns! And it’s only right that the atmosphere should be charged with expectation, because there is still alot more in store for this valley, it’s all a case of being in the right place at the right time, and that is definitely here and now! What are you waiting for?
