“We had a wonderful time at this B&B, with Manny (the owner) and Umberto (the tour guide). We saw many beautiful things and places, including fourteenth-century castles, cheese and prosciutto factories, Cinque Terre, Milano, Parma…The B&B was very comfortable and Bedonia was lovely. But what really made the trip was the fantastic hospitality, and the wonderful friendship offered by Manny and Umberto, as well as the careful organization of our trip by Valerie (who happened to be in the US at the time of our trip). We had an amazing vacation that we will never forget. I highly recommend the Villa Tre Angeli!”
“This was a very personal special trip for us and this review is a little different that the others. I can only reinforce what the other reviewers wrote. I don’t think else anyone could have made this pilgrimage to my families home town of Bedonia any better. Valerie -an American girl in Italy – and Giancarlo – my favorite living Bedonian- made our first trip to Italy an astonishing experience.”
“Mille grazie per tutto! Who would believe you could visit Italy in August and not see another American tourist? Incredible! Your hospitality and generosity are without bounds. xxoo to Veronique, Talon, Teano and the rest of your beautiful family.”
“In short, we were able to do much more than we had expected to do, and had even more fun, laughs, and learning in the doing than we had ever hoped for. A stay in small-town Italy was a rewarding and fulfilling counter-point to our earlier visits to the Big Three – Rome, Florence, and Venice –and other Italian cities. We highly recommend this unique soggiorno in the beautiful Emilia-Romagna region.”
“We returned home last night with so many wonderful memories from our time with you. We so much appreciate all you did to make our time in Bedonia so much fun. All the special things you did for us are forever remembered and appreciated.
Your many email conversations and your phone calls to discuss our desired activities were a great help in assuring a wonderful time was had by all! Great meals, your helpful hints and times around the table with your family made us feel welcome a gave us a real sense of lift in a small Italian village.
Each of the day trips gave us more opportunities to learn a culture and meet people not possible without your help.I think we all agreed we are small town folks and our time in Bedonia was great. Please say hello to Mannie and the kids for us. Again, thank you for all the help in planning our time with you and especially all the family “reunion” events for Mary Ann!!!! As she said over and over, the trip of a lifetime.”
“We have enjoyed every minute of our stay in your home. You have the wonderful ability to make “wayfarers” feel like they are home and part of your family. We will be back!!! So expect to meet more of our clan once we spread the word. Many thanks for all your kindness.”
“I cannot say enough wonderful things about the villa. I absolutely loved our time here, and I am very sad to leave. Thank you for welcoming us into your family.”
We LOVE Villa Tre Angeli! Valerie & Mannie are SUPERB hosts. We have enjoyed visits to Villa Tre Angeli several times and hope to return again. The tours are spectacular, informative, & interesting. The region is gorgeous. We travel a good bit, and Bedonia is a gem of a town, one of our favorites in the world. There are so many wonderful rich things to see and do right at your doorstep. (Of course, further away tour options are available too) Valerie and Mannie have a lovely B&B, will show you the “real” Italy & are worth the trip alone! Love them!!!!!
“It provides a different focus on Italy and its amazing culture than staying in large cities It is truly Italy at its best! The hospitality, concern, and conversation around the kitchen table makes the Villa like home. You gain a real appreciation for the culture through the eyes of your hosts and in the tours that truely expose you to the culture not just great museums.
The opportunities to visit numerous towns and small cities in the region, take a cooking lesson with a traditional authentic cook, and make the town of Bedonia your “home” during your stay, is special. Valerie and John Carlo have a knack for making each guest feel special and a part of their extended family. They have 3 wonderful children that greatly enhanced our experience. The accommodations are excellent and roomy. If you don’t go to the Villa Tre Angeli you have missed a special opportunity.”
“We have been visitors to Italy many times, although not to the Parma region. Staying with this family was unique. The house itself, at least 100 years old, gave the feeling of stepping back in time. The town of Bedonia had several good restaurants, especially fine was the 87 year old woman across the street who cooked regional food to perfection such as the legurian style lasagna. Valerie and Manny make a good team, taking good care of guests, driving them to points of interest, and offering breakfast treats which one would not get at a hotel. We became attached to this family during our one week stay.”
“On our first tour of Italy twenty years ago, the tour concluded with a visit to a Roman villa and dancing with 200 other American tourists. On the first day of this off the beaten track holiday, we were treated to a personal tour of a parmesan cheese factory in the morning and an afternoon and evening visit to a mountain refuge above Bedonia where we had a wonderful family style banquet, danced and played Bocce with local, welcoming life loving Italians.
We have forgotten the details of that trip 20 years ago, but the authentic small village experiences that you and your family shared with us will last a lifetime.”
“Beautiful Villa and Beautiful People! I really felt like part of the Family, Lucca and Florence are beautiful and I really hope to come visit another time! I already miss the Parmesan cheese, the prosciutto and the wine! hope to see you soon again!
It was a fantastic experience!”
“Thanks for everything from sharing your beautiful family to loaning me your cozy pajamas. Our stay with you helped me see that my fantasies about what Italy might be like are true and even better. Thanks again for your warm and wonderful hospitality.”
“This is our 3rd year of traveling around countries we visit to really see firsthand how people leave and to get the sense of a authentic country. Tre Angeli was a perfect example of a beautiful Italian family running a small business of hosting (random) people traveling through Italy to experience Italy’s beauty and warmth. Valerie and her husband gave us welcome we could not even expect and showed us interesting place right where they live – so much to see and appreciate. We saw a small beautiful chateu, amazing cheese factory, wonderful Portofino resort and historic Genoa. What was precious is all the personal stories Giancarlo told us, which made all the sights so much more precious and appreciated. When you visit and have a chance to take a day trips to places Valerie offers to see, do not hesitate – worth lifelong memories.”
“I had such a wonderful time staying at your lovely home. Valerie and Gian Carlo made me feel like a part of the family. Thank you very much for your warm hospitality!”
“Wonderful stay from the moment I walked into the door! I was made to feel welcome. A pure delight!”
“Our trip would never have been possible without your constant guidance, humour and assistance. We could never have had more considerate and gracious hosts! Thank you and bravissima as a job well done!”
“Thank you for a fantastic vacation. We really felt like we were home. Great tours, also. You have a great family. Call us when you’re in the states.”
“Many thanks for sharing your home with us! Both the tours were wonderful. Your children are beautiful and lots of fun to be around. If you ever get to Vermont, you have a place to stay, anytime.”
Bedonia is a sweet gem of a mountain town. I love Italy and have usually been to its historic cities that overflow with culture. It felt cozy to walk down Main street of this little town and grab a sweet treat from the local gelateria, sip on a cappuccino while listening to the local high school orchestra serenade us nearby, shop for fresh veggies from the local market and experience Italy’s best invention at the local pizzeria. What I didn’t expect were the hiking trails and majestic overlooks. It was cool to do something around nature in a place usually reserved for sightseeing. The town is an easy drive to the formagie factory, parma factory and a castle on the hill. The best day for the kids was a trip to the grotto where they dove off rock cliffs and swam with the Italians, enjoying play time without needing to know each other’s language. All of those “normal” activities were a treat to experience in a foreign place. Bedonia gifted us that experience.
“From the moment our host picked us up at the airport, we felt as though we were traveling with an old friend. The B&B was clean, comfortable and felt like home. We visited to trace our family roots and Mannie always went above and beyond by helping us research records and acting as our interpreter. I will be returning again next year and I will once again be happy to call Villa Tre Angeli my home.”
“Loved it! Loved the room. It was pretty and very comfortable. The bathroom was private and brand new. Breakfast in the morning had plenty of goodies but the best part was the cappuccino and the warm embrace we received by the owners. We were taken on wonderful tours and saw sights that only the “real” Italians know about. We can’t wait to go back to Villa Tre Angeli!”
“Last September, eleven very good friends decided on a trip to Italy. Through a friend, we discovered Villa Tre Angeli. We didn’t want to see Italy again as typical tourists. We wanted to enjoy the Italy that Italians love so much. We got that at Villa Tre Angeli and more. Val, Mannie and their children treated us like family. A charming B&B in a great little town with fantastic restaurants.”
“The inn is nestled in a beautiful small country town, that begs to be explored by foot, car, or bike. I had no excuse to not run and all the reason to, with the surrounding meadows and woods. The inside of the inn was homey, quiet, and very clean. The kitchen was the highlight, as this is where our host, “Mannie,” prepared and served our huge, varied and delicious breakfasts.”
“What a great place and very helpful host. Manny went out of his way to make sure we went everywhere we wanted. If your planning on going to this part of Italy, this is the place to stay.”
“We had a wonderful week at Villa Tre Angeli. Valerie and Mannie were terrific hosts. The excursions were a lot of fun – and quite varied. The house is great and very comfortable.”
“My husband and I stayed at Villa Tre Angeli and had the most spectacular time you can imagine. The hosts, Valerie & Manny, treated us like family. We can’t wait to go back!”
